We have an exciting offer of free training on LGBTQ+ Experiences of Domestic Abuse for organisations in London that support survivors of domestic abuse as part of their work.
We’re an expert by-and-for service supporting LGBTQ+ people who are experiencing homelessness or living in unsafe environments. We do this through advice, advocacy, and providing specialist support to LGBTQ+ people who are fleeing, or have fled, domestic abuse.

ABOUT THIS FREE TRAINING
We know that many LGBTQ+ people’s experiences of domestic abuse are linked to their sexual orientation or gender identity. Despite experiencing similar rates of domestic abuse to non-LGBTQ+ people, we know that LGBTQ+ victims are underrepresented in mainstream services, with recent research from Galop highlighting that 6 in 10 LGBTQ+ survivors did not seek support from services following an experience of abuse.
Stonewall Housing’s training ‘LGBTQ+ Experiences of Domestic Abuse’ is designed to support practitioners who are supporting survivors of domestic abuse as part of their role, to increase their awareness and inclusivity of the LGBTQ+ community. The overall aim of this training offer will be to ensure more LGBTQ+ victims/survivors are able to access services that are sensitive to their needs and equipped to provide an inclusive service.
The training will be delivered for FREE by one of our expert trainers.
- This is only available to London-based organisations
- It’s a full-day, in-person session
- Up to 18 attendees per session
- Held at a venue at your choice
- We are also open to exploring online delivery
- Each participant will receive a resource pack, and a certificate of attendance
