Stonewall Housing
Hits 40!

We turn 40 in October 2023 – will you celebrate with us?

Whether you’ve been with us for 40 years or just discovered our cause today – EVERYONE is welcome to celebrate our birthday with us!

We’ll honour what we have achieved for our community over the last four decades and look ahead to our future. We remain as ambitious and determined as we were 40 years ago – we won’t stop fighting until ALL LGBTQ+ people have somewhere safe to call home.

There are lots of ways you can join us as we recognise this momentous point in our history, from coming along to an event, to donating or volunteering for us.

We are so proud to celebrate this milestone birthday with our team, service users, volunteers, partners and supporters.

Join our #Hitting40 Fundraising Campaign

Could you join our #Hitting40 fundraising campaign, and help make a difference to vulnerable LGBTQ+ people across the UK?

We’re currently supporting over 2400 people every year – though we know there are an estimated 64,000 – 128,000 LGBTQ+ people facing homelessness in the UK who would benefit from our support.

Your fundraising could help us reach more people who need us. Find us on JustGiving, Facebook Fundraising and Tiltify.

SET YOURSELF A CHALLENGE

There are so many ways you could fundraise for Stonewall Housing and join our #Hitting40 campaign, like…

– setting yourself the challenge of running 40km
– or swimming 40 laps
– or jumping on the spot for 40 minutes
– or streaming a game on Twitch for 40 hours over the month
– or even watching your least-favourite film 40 times…

The possibilities are endless!

Whatever you choose to do to challenge yourself, our team will be on hand to support you with advice and help with promotion.

GET YOUR WORKPLACE INVOLVED

Could your workplace host its own #Hitting40 fundraising event, like holding a screening of our film Less? Or shaking up some rainbow cocktails in the office?

Whether your target is £40, £400 or £4000, you’ll make a real difference to our work.

Working with Stonewall Housing can help you achieve your CSR goals, provide meaningful opportunities for your employees and clearly demonstrate your support of the LGBTQ+ community. For more info on supporting us or if you’re part of a corporate LGBTQ+ network or society, please contact us at supporters@stonewallhousing.org

Volunteer with us

We’ll be running fun bucket collections at tube stations across London during October – helping us to raise vital funds and spread the word about the work we do. Could you sign up to a 90 minute shift?

3 October 2023 – Moorgate
10 October 2023 – Oxford Circus
17 October 2023 – Barbican
20 October 2023 – St Paul’s

You’ll be collecting in pairs at the station, with branded Stonewall Housing buckets, card readers and lanyards (and Pride flags, if you wish!). We provide the permit, organise the logistics, and support you during your shift.

Join us at the Royal Parks Half Marathon

We also have a terrific team of runners at this year’s Royal Parks Half Marathon, and we’re looking for volunteers to join our Cheer Point!

Date: 8 October 2023
Email volunteering@stonewallhousing.org for more info.

Make a one-off gift
Donations help to fund our vital services. Did you know £40 could cover four telephone housing advice sessions?

You can use our donation form or email our team to enquire about making a bank transfer.

Or text FORTY to 70450 to donate £10. Texts will cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message, and you’ll be opting into hearing more from us. If you would like to donate but don’t wish to hear more from us, please text FORTYNOINFO instead.

Set up a Direct Debit
Regular gifts by direct debit give us a predictable income so we can commit to reaching more vulnerable LGBTQ+ people who need us.

Direct debits also mean we pay less in processing fees than we do for credit card donations.

Donate via Monzo!
For any Monzo users out there, you’ll find Stonewall Housing on the ‘Donate to charity’ feature on your homepage.

You can make one-off or monthly donations directly to us and we get 100% of your donation.

Are you set up for payroll giving?
Payroll giving is a way for you to donate to us directly through your salary without paying tax on it. In fact, it’s one of the most tax-efficient ways of donating.

Talk to your employer to find out about your company’s payroll giving scheme.
