Ollie* experienced domestic abuse in his home after coming out as pansexual. His mum’s new partner verbally and physically attacked him, while his mum believed “that I wasn’t actually pansexual. I’ve been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and I also have mental health problems – my mum thought I was just confused and couldn’t actually be pan.”
One of our caseworkers supported Ollie to access emergency accommodation and away from his volatile home environment. Ollie’s now settled in long-term supported accommodation.
“One day I might have a relationship with my mum again but we’re not there yet. This year is all about me working hard, seeing friends and looking after my mental health.”
