Launching ‘Kicked Out for Coming Out’: Stonewall Housing’s Latest Campaign to Tackle the LGBTQ+ Homelessness Crisis
Nearly 1 in 5 LGBTQ+ individuals in the UK face homelessness at some point in their lifetime, and a staggering 77% attribute family rejection as the primary trigger. We believe that shedding light on this is more crucial than ever.
This week marks a pivotal moment as we launch our initiative, “Kicked Out for Coming Out”.
For two weeks, we’ll be promoting this campaign on outdoor digital screens across London, Manchester and Birmingham – thanks to Mr President agency and Ocean Outdoor.
This campaign confronts the harsh reality of family rejection as a significant contributor to LGBTQ+ homelessness.
“Kicked Out for Coming Out” aims to shine a spotlight on the heart-breaking impact of family rejection on LGBTQ+ people, who may be left without a home or support system. By addressing this root cause, we strive to create a safer and more inclusive environment for all members of the community.
We’re spreading the message of LGBTQ+ homelessness in order to raise much-needed funds and awareness for our charity, to help us in our mission to support those in need of advice, temporary accommodation and advocacy.
