DOMESTIC ABUSE CASE WORKER – FULL TIME (35 hpw)

£28,200 – £31,764 (Incl LW) Fixed Term Contract till March 2020.

We are currently looking for an experienced Domestic Abuse Case Worker to provide advice, support to LGBT+ survivors of domestic violence and keep them and their families safe. Ideally you will have experience of working providing advocacy to homeless people, and with people who are or have been the victim of domestic abuse. You will also have experience of supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people and those who identify as another sexual/gender minority (LGBT+) who have faced LGBT discrimination, violence or hate crime. This post is funded by the Home Office as party of the National LGBT Domestic Abuse Casework and Inter Agency Support Service, led by Galop.

TRANS PROJECT WORKER– PART TIME (ref PW/09/19)

(2 days per week: 14 hrs)

Salary £23,958 to £25,635 (FTE including ILW)

We are currently looking for an experienced trans project worker to provide support and resettlement to trans people. Ideally you will have experience within a supported housing setting, providing structured support for a vulnerable and complex client group; An understanding, directly or indirectly of the issues affecting trans people and supported accommodation is essential.  The post will run for 6 months with the possibility of a further 12 month extension and requires an immediate start.

Volunteering

Whether you want to support our work directly with homeless LGBT+ people, provide administration support in our office, get involved in fundraising and events, or offer specialist advice and support in a chosen field, please get in touch. We will be honest with you if we don’t currently have the right volunteering opportunity to fit your skills.

All our volunteers are given an induction to their role and ongoing training and support.

Internships

We sometimes accept internships. This depends on the learning needs of the individual and our capacity at the time of the placement. Please contact us if you would like to do an internship with us. Please be clear regarding your learning objectives, length of internship, days per week available, and provide a CV or covering letter highlighting why you wish to do your internship with us and what previous experience you have.


Role:  Social Media Internship

Duration: ongoing

Commitment: 1-2 day per week (flexi hours)

Salary: Unpaid. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

We often take social work students and have a qualified HCPC registered onsite practice educator. If you are on a BA or MA social work course, and would like to complete a placement in an LGBT+ setting, please get in touch or ask your university’s placement team to contact us.
