In 2018, we celebrate 35 years of providing advice, advocacy and housing support for our LGBT+ communities.
Established in 1983, we are proud to have worked with over 30,000 people to secure safe housing. Stonewall Housing provides the only specialist housing advice, advocacy and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT+) people of all ages.
We are a voice for our communities who are often marginalised and discriminated against. Our vision is simple: lesbians, gay men, bisexual and trans people of all ages will live in safer homes without fear of discrimination, violence or abuse.
Our CEO, Bob Green says:
‘I am tremendously proud to celebrate Stonewall Housing’s milestone birthday at such an iconic venue, with so many staff, trustees, volunteers, supporters and service users, both past and present. Despite recent legal advances for LGBT+ people, too many still experience poor housing services and cannot access safe, affordable housing’.
Our new Chair, Helen Randall says:
‘I’m really looking forward to working with SH staff who do a great job w limited resources to deliver vital services to LGBTQi community who even in these so-called enlightened times continue to experience homelessness and abuse in disproportionate numbers. My priority is to work with the Stonewall Housing team to access more funding and raise the profile of the vital work Stonewall Housing does.
The birthday celebration event is a great opportunity for Stonewall Housing to showcase the vital work we do and share some exciting plans for the future to ensure our communities are involved in shaping better services and new housing solutions’
